5. Quotes, Pricing & Additional Works
Estimates provided before a site inspection are indicative only and may change following verification of site conditions, property information, and project requirements.
Estimated pricing may be influenced by factors including:
- Property size and layout;
- Existing wiring or infrastructure;
- Installation complexity;
- Equipment required;
- Accessibility and site conditions;
- Existing smoke alarm condition; and
- Compliance requirements identified onsite.
Formal written quotations remain valid for the period specified in the quotation unless otherwise stated.
Additional costs or variations may arise where information provided by the customer is incomplete or inaccurate, or where onsite inspection or works identify concealed building conditions, hidden services, inaccessible areas, asbestos-containing materials, structural issues, existing non-compliant installations, or other circumstances that were not reasonably apparent at the time the quotation was prepared.
Further charges may also apply where the customer requests or requires:
- Extra smoke alarms;
- Wireless smoke alarm controllers;
- Additional installations;
- Repairs or rectification works; or
- Supplementary products, upgrades, or services outside the original scope of work.
Where practical, approval will be sought before proceeding with any chargeable variations or works outside the original scope.
6. Smoke Alarm Compliance
Smoke alarm services are provided in accordance with applicable Queensland legislation and relevant Australian Standards, including AS3786:2014.
Queensland legislation requires interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms that comply with AS3786:2014.
Generally, smoke alarms are required:
- In every bedroom;
- In hallways connecting bedrooms to the rest of the dwelling;
- On every storey; and
- Along the most likely path of travel to exit where no hallway exists.
Placement requirements may include minimum exclusion distances from:
- Corners and light fittings;
- Air-conditioning vents; and
- Ceiling fan blades.
Customers acknowledge that compliance requirements may vary depending on the property’s design, existing infrastructure, and legislative requirements.
Any estimate provided through our booking system is indicative only.
The final number and positioning of smoke alarms are subject to verification during an on-site physical inspection by a qualified technician to ensure adherence to all applicable statutory requirements.
Additional rectification works may be required to achieve compliance and may incur additional charges.
Compliance assessments are based on information available at the time of inspection. Legislative requirements, building alterations, undisclosed conditions, or subsequent changes to the property may affect compliance outcomes.
A smoke alarm upgrade or compliance assessment does not constitute a guarantee that a property will remain compliant in the future.
7. CCTV & Security System Performance
Security and surveillance systems are intended to assist with monitoring and risk reduction but do not guarantee the prevention of loss, theft, damage, or security incidents.
System performance may be affected by:
- Internet or network outages;
- Power interruptions;
- Environmental conditions;
- Third-party hardware or software;
- User modifications or misuse.
Customers are responsible for ensuring their use of CCTV, recording, and monitoring systems complies with applicable privacy, surveillance, workplace, tenancy, and other relevant laws.
While reasonable security measures may be implemented, Foxtone Andy’s CCTV does not guarantee protection against cyber-attacks, hacking, unauthorised access, data loss, internet outages, cloud service failures, or third-party software vulnerabilities.

9. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Reasonable notice should be provided for cancellations or appointment changes.
Where a technician has already been dispatched, access is unavailable at the scheduled attendance time, or repeated short-notice cancellations or rescheduling occur, reasonable call-out fees or other costs incurred may be charged.
10. Payments
Payment terms will be specified at the time of booking, quotation, or invoicing.
Payment may be required:
- Before installation;
